چکیده
Abstract To evaluate the role of corneal hysteresis (CH) as a risk factor for progressive ONH surface depression and RNFL thinning measured by confocal scanning laser ophthalmoscopy (CSLO) spectral-domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT), respectively in glaucoma patients. Prospective study. A total 146 eyes 90 patients with were recruited consecutively. The CH measurements acquired at baseline 4-months interval using Ocular Response Analyzer (Reichert Instruments, Depew, NY). Eyes imaged CSLO (Heidelberg Retinal Tomograph [HRT]; Heidelberg Engineering, GmbH, Dossenheim, Germany) SD-OCT (Cirrus HD-OCT; Carl Zeiss Meditec AG, Dublin, CA) approximately 4-month intervals measurement topography thickness, respectively. Significant defined reference to Topographic Change Analysis (TCA) HRT Guided Progression (GPA) Cirrus HD-OCT, Multivariate cox proportional hazards models used investigate whether is progression after adjusting potential confounding factors. All followed an average 6.76 years (range, 4.56–7.61 years). Sixty-five glaucomatous (44.5%) 49 showed depression, 55 (37.7%) 43 had 20 (13.7%) 17 visual field progression. In model, diastolic IOP, CCT, age, disc area MD, was significantly associated (HR = 0.71, P 0.014 HR 0.54, 0.018, respectively), but not 1.03, 0.836). For each 1-mmHg decrease CH, increase 29%, 46%. lower increased

Detecting optic nerve head deformation and retinal nerve fiber layer thinning in glaucoma progression
The application of digital imaging technologies including confocal scanning laser ophthalmoscopy (CSLO), optical coherence tomography (OCT), and scanning laser polarimetry (SLP) has significantly improved the detection of optic nerve head (ONH) deformation and progressive retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) thinning for assessment of glaucoma progression. Algorithms for change analysis such as top...
متن کاملOptic Nerve Head and Retinal Nerve Fiber Layer Imaging in Glaucoma Diagnosis
Glaucoma is a chronic, progressive neurodegenerative disease. It is defined as chronic progressive optic neuropathy with typical optic disk and retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) changes with corresponding visual field defect. Intraocular pressure (IOP) is considered only a major risk factor and not a diagnostic criterion. At present, clinically visible RNFL defects are considered as the sensitiv...

Purpose The purpose of this study was to investigate the role of optic disc torsion on the rate of progressive retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) thinning in patients with myopic open-angle glaucoma. Methods We included 102 patients with myopic open-angle glaucoma accompanied by glaucomatous damage confined to a single hemiretina who were followed up over a 5-year period. We divided the subject...

PURPOSE To investigate relationships between acute intraocular pressure (IOP)-induced optic nerve head surface deformation and corneal hysteresis and thickness in glaucomatous and nonglaucomatous human eyes. METHODS This was a prospective experimental study of 100 subjects (38 with glaucoma, 62 without glaucoma). Data collected included spherical equivalent, optic disc diameter, central corne...
متن کاملDiagnostic Methods for Optic Nerve Head and Retinal Nerve Fiber Evaluation in Glaucoma
Glaucoma which is a leading cause of blindness in the world is not a single disease but a group of disorders with diverse clinical manifestations. If not controlled at an early stage, it causes irreversible damage to vision. Proper medication slows down or even halts its growth. Identifying glaucoma at a very early stage is vital and at the same time difficult. Careful evaluation of Optic nerve...
